Got the blade hooked up to the 102, so now I'm covered between it and the 982, now we won't get any snow. The 102 or the blade won't win any beauty shows but it's one of my more reliable workhorses that just won't quit. Got the snow removal crew sitting closest to the garage door

I am. Have been shoveling my driveway for the past 11 years. Bought a LT1040 for cutting grass when we moved here. Just bought my dads 3240. Have the deck off & the blade on. Have fluid in the tires but thinking about putting chains on also.

Chains are a must, so time to stop thinking about it and just put them on! Some guys get away with Ag tires on flat ground without chains, but with any icing they won't work even on the flat. Get the heavy-duty two-link chains from here, they are the go to source for quality tire chains: https://www.tirechain.com/Garden-Tracto ... Chains.htm

Over the years I've tried various combinations. One time I thought ag tires would be sufficient -- weren't. Put chains on them -- still not good. Ended up with turf tires with 2-link chains, and weight: 100 pounds of wheel weights on each rear tire and 100 on the rear bracket. Been using these for some time now and they're the best way I could find.

I got new 4.00-8 tri ribs from Miller Tire out at Rough and Tumble ( Kinzers PA ) when they were out for the Threshersman Reunion in August. Put them on the 125 with the QA-42 and I'm all set now

I think right now I'm on hold with the front blade idea. I really think a rear blade would b more valuable for all around work.

NOT ME.... Started getting the new super apart and did get the 551 onto the 1863 for testing. Cab is still waiting though. Then caught a stomach bug that kept me close to the reading room and got over that and got the flu.... Hoping to get into the shop in the AM and get things together.

My Cub isn’t ready yet so I have to use the x758 with a 54inch blower. But I do have 3 hundred pound IH weights on the back of it. That has to count for something. I even painted them red and sent a photo to the dealer when they wouldn’t cut me a deal on the JD weights.

Replaced hydro gasket, repaired hydro slot, updated front coupler to Quiet Line style, increased drive sprocket by 1 tooth to speed up the auger a little.

Uggg! Winter It's been a cold one here guys. Nothing against plow trucks, but man, do they tear up the yard and push gravel around. I have a guy that helps keep our drive open, especially when I cant keep up. Had the flu for the first time in over 20 years. Winter

Any hoot, here is my beloved model 72 during snow clearing duty.

I'll second the motion on that John. Sixty degrees just the other day and now this. The road to our hose is about the worst that I have ever seen in all our years here. The ground thawed and then this heavy snow. I spun my wheels in AWD all the way up to our drive and barely made it in with just one inch of snow after doing the plowing. This stuff is like grease.

We got 4" of wet heavy slop.....and loads of wind! Combine the two and u get power outages everywhere. Wife heard on the "gossip snap net book chat".... could b out for days. Man

Near miss foR us! 1” of rain and a-dusting of snow. No power outage but some people near by lost it for a few hours last night.

Boy, was that last snow fall a powerful one! I do not recall the last time the snow fell so wet and heavy, with amazing accumulation and wind force. I was at work last Thursday when it all began. I work a second shift, and during this time the storm was in full effect. Usually my commute is 25 minutes one way, but because of the storm, the travel took me just over 1 hour to get home. I had got stuck at a red light of all places as there must have been a foot of snow in the intersection. My Blazer wanted to do nothing but tail sway in the rear as it seemed the rear tires just could not get out of the way of the front tires. That wet snow is the worst! And of all times I needed my 4wd, it did not work in my Blazer. Well guess what, today I just ordered $276 in 4wd parts, and will be removing the half shaft myself and installing the new gears and thrust washers.

I reside in the lower section of the Lake Erie Snow Belt.

klapatta, you have a great set up! If you ever decide to add about 6-8" of blade length per side to your current blade, you will be surprised how well you can load up the longer blade, and even more so how your IH Cub Cadet handles it!

John-You got it worse that I did. I'm half way between Cleveland and Akron and we hit about 3 ". We usually get pounded.

Here where I live we got about 18 inches of that nice wet stuff. The village 3 miles from my house said 2 ft but I’m not sure. Lot of wind from the north so it made funny drifts. I called in sick. Wouldn’t have been able to get to work till 9 am anyway. No point in going at that time.

Craig....wow! Good call on the sickness . What do you use to clear snow? How did it work with this heavy wet snow? I have family south of you in Andover NY...I think they said over a foot. They just got power back last night. My power was only out for a day and a half. Thankfully

I’m currently using a Deere x758 diesel with a 54inch blower. It’s a nice machine and is 4wd. I miss my IH 254 compact and blower in snow like this because of higher horsepower. It made sense at the time when I purchased the deer to eliminate 2 tractors and get one that could do all I needed. Im gathering pieces for my Cub 122 to restore it and do have a couple blowers to try and make one out of but I think that would have been a frustrating thing to try and use. Still would have been better than a shovel though. Was almost wishing the Deere wasn’t still under warranty because it sure would have been nice to give it a little more fuel.

It snowed here. More coming Monday.
