Download the 122 repair manual. There's a section in there on creeper repair.

Can you identify the area in which you are having trouble?

It’s step two got snap ring out and also got the oil seal out , not sure what we’re doing wrong
Maybe we have to tap it out , or should it just slide out. Dosnt want to slide out, do we turn shaft a certain amount?
It’s part 16 that comes out with shaft and bearing right? Then you can change bearing and install the new seal?

After you get the big snap ring out from the front then the whole mess comes out all at once. There is an O-ring in there which is why it does not wanna move easily

Ok he got it out thinking the 47 year old o ring was so hard it was holding up the removal. Had to use a little press and got it out
You can see the sliced o-ring!

Well good for you, the shaft and gears are looking no worse for wear either.
Any combination of things could have been causing the trouble. Obviously the O ring was not liking that very much  It probably was hung up within the snap ring groove to peel off like that. There may have been a burr on that groove or paint on the machined area along with any dirt mixed in. Give the bore around the snap ring a little hand polish with some 240 sandpaper before reassembly so it goes back in smoother than it came out.

All back together now
For assembly he had to use the press again in order to get the o ring and clip but that’s probably cause at 80 years old he didn’t have the strength to push it by hand
Thanks to all for your invite and help
