Lets talk batteries
Anyone have any luck finding reasonable priced lithium batteries with enough power to start at least 7hp models? Looking to find a longer lasting solution then a std battery

Re: Lets talk batteries
I use cordless tools almost everyday....drills and impact mostly. I didn't know that they made LI batteries for larger products like cars. Once r saw your post I googled it and was surprised to see that they make them for larger items. The prices are out of sight. Then I did see a couple links to where guys built their own. I seem to get 5 ish years out of standard tractor battery. How many years do u suppose a LI would last?

Do not charge lithium ion batteries below 32°F/0°C. In other words, never charge a lithium ion battery that is below freezing. plowing or snow blowing below 32 you will be putting a charge to it.

I have had very good success with the Optima batteries.
Perhaps one can be found to fit inside your Cub Cadet battery box. It would have to fall under group 26 or group 70.
The one in my homemade machine is ten years old and is still holding a charge perfectly.Perhaps one can be found to fit inside your Cub Cadet battery box. It would have to fall under group 26 or group 70.

Lithium- Ion batteries. Hum.
Here's a Tesla model X that was just discovered on the ice in the middle of Lake Champlain, Vermont on Sunday. The bigger the battery the bigger the fire I guess
That musta been some pretty thick ice

Dave, they know what happened. It has been well documented that these vehicles do not respond well to under carriage damage of any kind.
The owner has admitted to taking the car out onto the ice to do some donuts. It's the same old story here every year around this time. He struck an unseen fault line rise on the ice that damaged the battery packs and the rest is history.
Explain that one to the insurance company.

And along comes the flying fickle finger of fate.
And explaining that one to his insurance company, I already did.
I got rear ended in heavy traffic two hours after that last post.
Good luck to that dude with finding a new front clip for a ten year old Saab. And explaining that one to his insurance company, I already did.

Oh man . Are you repairing your car yourself? Paintless dent repair? I'm considering that for my boys car.

Re: Lets talk batteries
Dave, the car came home four days ago.
Back to batteries- I moved the thrower 126 out back today. I don't think that I will be needing it anymore this year. It's mud season.
I keep a four amp auto shutoff charger on it all the time. Instant startup. It was quite large and I had to install it inside the dash tower box at an angle to get it to fit inside And other than the two screws and power cord it can't be seen even from the inside.
