The adjusters on it look like a Carter. The adjustable Walbro has the main jet down by the bowl facing downward. Don't know if they consider that a Kohler but doesn't look like a Walbro.
From the first Original to the last x82 Series... you can't beat an IH Cub Cadet!!!

Dealer says there were markings. Probably on the float bowl, I guess I'll have to take it off to find out. I was hoping to get the kit and rebuild it later on,so much for my plan... Thanks for the help,Kevin.

Dave
That’s a Carter or a Kohler carb. 25-757-02 should be the part number for the kit. Carb model number can be seen on the mounting flange on your last picture. Good luck!

Funny thing about these carburetors, the body is the carburetor used for a 10 horse K series. The rebuild kit (25-757-02)is the kit used for a 16 horse. Due to the twin cylinders it needs less air but still requires more fuel. With a bad Walbro carburetor, (you’ll need the throttle shaft and choke shaft from the walbro) you can rebuild a 10 horse carburetor using a 16 horse kit and have the correct carburetor for a magnum 18 or a KT 17!

The carb is on a KT 17. The dealer said there were markings on the carb so I took off the air cleaner. No markings except the stamping on the flange. I wanted to be sure about the carb because the kohler kit is $15, a walbro is $60. Thank you for the help, Joe. BTW, that same dealer said that a float for that carb is unobtanium.

Float kit is part number 25-757-03.
Throttle/choke shaft kits are 25-757-11 to 25-757-18 depending on the set up. I’m told they went NLA

I think it’s time to find a better dealer, maybe just someone who has a Parts guy over say 45 and who knows how to use paper and microfiche.

I never knew about the 16hp kit being different like that.

I haven't been to my dealer in who knows how many years. When you can get someone that knows what these mowers were, you'll still pay 3 times the cost.

They have a guy about my age (53) but a young girl answered the phone. My friend told me to talk to the older guy for the same reasons you cited.

Kevin
The 14/16 used the #30 Carter 30 is the bore in MM of the main air chamber, to make up the difference of air/fuel the seat has a bigger hole allowing more fuel flow. I’m sure the main jets are different as well. The “01” kit used 7-14 hp is almost identical and the seat could be opened up a bit to work in a pinch. I’m not sure the hole sizes but it is clearly visible when side by side.

Thanks again for the part numbers. I got the carb kit from the dealer, and the float kit from IHCCW. I'll get to fixing it this week.
