Question on a 70,100and 126 is the main shaft the same length as in the main shaft for a rear pto shaft?

Yes the main top shaft is the same for all narrow frames. i think even the wide frames. the only one thats different is the Original. The one for the rear pto is different then a standard top shaft.

So a rear PTO top shaft is different then a std topshaft, for the rear pto topshaft tje shaft extends into the rear differential case about 1 inch or so and is piloted and splined so you can shift the pto in and out.

A STD top shaft doesnt have this part so there is no way to support or drive the pto shaft.

An Original top shaft is different then all the others cause the Original uses a different reduction housing, the shafts are slightly different in length.

ok i canht believe i found it. here is a picture of 2 rear pto top shafts. the longer one on bottom is for 70 and up. the shorter one is for an original.

Do you have a pic of a 70 and up pto shaft compared to a standered pto shaft.
