Re: Snow blade
It will physically attach, but the 1864 has the newer taller front axle, so I'm not sure if the angle will be ideal. That said, I suspect it will be fine.
I also can't remember if the lift rod will be the same due to differences in the rockshaft set-up, but I suspect that will be ok. I'm just having trouble remembering! Hopefully someone else jumps in, it isn't too big of a mystery. Welcome to the forum!

Ugh, I know. It's just been too long since I've thought about this with standard GT since I moved to all SGT years ago. I think Joe and/or Steve will know right off the bat, so I'm trying to push the easy button and hoping that they jump in and save me!

Re: Snow blade
I’m going to say no it won’t work. Like tom said the axle is a different height. So much so that the Plow/axle would hit. It’s worth trying though and if need be, just lower the front the rears are the same.

Re: Snow blade
As has been said the hanger is different due to the axle, but it's an easy modification to make it fit. The blade itself is the same. All that needs to be done is to cut the front ears off the hanger then put them into the QA brackets and put the rest under the tractor. With the rear ears on the hanger hooked to the crossbar under the footrests you can measure the distance between the cut pieces with the blade face vertical.

Dag-itis. I looked it up in the encyclopedia, "To be an older refined man, to be mature, a man the ladies adore". Dag-itis!

Re: Snow blade
Thanks for the advice. Does anyone know where I can find a snow blade that is made for the 1864?

Re: Snow blade
They can be hard to find as it's hard to tell them apart without measuring the ears on the hanger. It's normally easier to just drop the hanger to make it fit. But there is the wanting and looking section below.

Re: Snow blade
Several of your replies talk about a Haban dozer blade. What exactly is that?

Re: Snow blade
The Haban 401 is a heavy duty front blade that was made for the cub cadet "super" line. It's a very heavy set-up as the builder spared no expense with the steel. I have no idea if that would fit your tractor but I'm guessing it would not work without modifications. You would also need a robust lifting system. Does your tractor have hydraulic lift?
I remember how frustrating it can be hunting for an attachment. Good luck Tim

Re: Snow blade
Thanks for the information. Yes my tractor has hydraulic lift. Can the blades be angled from the drivers seat or do you have to get off every time?

Does your tractor have the front outlets and a “extra” hydro lever? Most I’ve seen do not. Without the front ports, you would need to get off the seat to angle the plow. A super plow would not go on a 1864 without major work.

Re: Snow blade
I’m going to look at one tomorrow that might work with a little altering. They want $250 for it. Hope it has the right lift bracket that goes on the rock shaft.

Re: Snow blade
What model Is it from? At that price it should be correct and have the correct rockshaft bracket as well. However location does play a part!

It’s off a 782. He didn’t want to throw in the rock shaft bracket.

Re: Snow blade
Ok guys, l looked at the snow blade off the 782 and I think it might work. The lift bracket apparently is welded to the rockshaft and I need advice on how to remove it.

Re: Snow blade
The lift lever on a 782 is a part of the tractor itself and it will not fit the rockshaft on the 1864 anyway as the 1864 is a larger shaft. Instead take a look at Xtreme Motorworks part PN# CC-86-002, it wokse with both blades and blowers and other attachments as well, like a johnny bucket or other front attachments.

Re: Snow blade
My 1864 doesn’t have a lift ear on the rock shaft. It has a lift heights indicator dial. Crap!

Re: Snow blade
That’s correct, the lift bracket that Steve talked about is what you need to make it work.
