My "Other Tractor"

Post by Amigatec »

I moved this thread from the classified section to here. Geezer

This is my "Other Tractor" a 1950 David Bradley Model #917.5756 with Model # 917.5753 32" Cutterbar Mower.

Image

Motor is missing, had a 1.6 HP Continental, but it's long gone.

Image

I mounted a 5 HP B&S from a TroyBilt tiller just to check it out.

Image

I was going to rebuild the SickleBar but the parts are to high to mess with, so I just took it apart and cleaned it up and painted it.

Image

Now i have finished rebuilding the drive unit.

Image

Painted it IH Red.

Image

Now on to the main frame and transmission.

Well I got it done in time for the Tractor show on the 3rd and 4th of June.

Bought a B&S Model 8 rated at 2.25 hp to go on it.

Bought some NEW 6X16 tires for it.

There is a machine like that sitting on the side of the road as a "display" in Sturgeon Lake, MN. I drive by it twice a week. I should stop and see if it's for sale at all. Are they worth much?

These were built by Sears between 1946 and 1967. Some have hoods and some don't. In good running condition, maybe $300-$400. The 1950 I got for free, and I gave $40 for the other one. I am looking for attachments for these. These Tractors eventually turned into the Sears Suburban Tractor and finally the Craftsman line of mowers.

Here is one I am trying to buy, it is probably the best of them all, but it is priced to high. Has a Wisconsin ACN motor on it. Built in 1957.

Its a 110 with a pull start diesel in it. Belive me it looked nothing close to that when I owned it. This was when danny was on his JD kick. Took me a while to keep kicking him in the pants to get over it!
