Little Wagon...

Post by Ksmith »

I finished up a personal project a few days ago...

This is a half scale model of one of my Dad's sweet corn wagons. I'm using it for advertising. Every tractor show I go to, I'm going to hook them together. All 4 wheels are take offs from the mini's I've been building. (I'd have almost $300 in tires and rims if they were new... that's nuts!)

The first pict was right after I built it. It has 800 pound of potatoes on the bed. (My Dad and brother grow potatoes.) I wanted to test it with weight before painting it in-case I had to beef it up. I drove it around the barn, over bumps, and it was good to go. So I tore it down and painted.

The sides are made out of 1/2" sign plywood.

The last pict is what they will look like at a show. I made a light duty hitch for the plow, so I could have it mounted for the shows, and still pull the wagon.

The little 826 and display wagon will be at the Saline Farm Fest, in Saline Michigan on May 7th. They will also be at the Durand Railroad Days, in Durand Michigan, May 13-15th, and the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Assn. 29th Annual Swap and Sell, May 18-21st, in Portland Indiana. I won't personally be at all of these events every day, but I will be dropping off and picking up the tractor.

Jeepers Kurt, I have to wear a bib when I read your posts. Maybe my drooling won't show on this post.

You guys are a little nuts... :D

The wagon is 44" wide, 84" long, and the sides are 14" tall.

And, no, I don't need to shoot you. ;)

I they are 2x6's. The square tubing for the axles and tongue are 1.5". I bumped the rear hubs down with 1x1" square spacers on the bottom side of the axle tube, which gave me some extra room for the steering mechanism on the front. When I get the wagon back, I'll take some more picts of it your you...
