1500 pickup engine seized up at 80k i think (yes it had oil!)

2500 diesel, 2k worth of front wheel brgs at 60k i think

prob others i cant think of

my F250 so far i had 1 ignition coil die at 80K cost a few hundred bucks

I dunno i guess im partial!! i really didnt wanna start the truck debate again tho!

Dave C..

My 1979 Chevy 4x4 3/4 ton broke the frame over the rear axle driving down the road empty.
Only indication was when I went to brake at the entrance to my farm, there were almost NO brakes!
Found it while looking for brake problem.

LAST Government Motors P/U...went back to ALL FORDS....

I don't know why you guys insist on negative ( Chevy Bashing ) posts .
Ray was simply posting pictures of his Chevys , and is proud of them .

If a member had posted pictures of his fleet of Fords , Dodges , etc , I wouldn't have said a word .
You get good and bad trucks no matter what model you buy .
I told myself I wasn't going to get sucked into a truck debate . :beathorse:

I didn't say anything negative about any of them I get a choice this was the best for my wallet at the time .
Low mileage too 219,000 -- 350 runs strong tranny was replaced by PO any thing is good as long as it does what intended - including green. I got a red one now I'm cursing the heck out of it . :x Durn thing about half my age and it expects me to mow with a push mower. :o But I love it

Ford and JD are all about the same, I won't own either of them.

But on second I have owned 3 Ford Trucks in my life a 1929, a 1931, and a 1984.

One of the places I used to work the Boss thought Ford trucks were it. I told him one day after he started bragging about them to just take a look at them, we had 5 at the time.

One LT9000 with a NT300 Cummins Diesel,
One L8000 with a 3208 Caterpiller Diesel,
One F750 with a 8.2L Detroit Diesel and Allison Automatic, (Both of which were made by GM),
One F250 4X4 with a 6.9l International Diesel,
and One F600 with a 391cid Ford gas motor, and that was the one he wanted to sell.

I told him yep these Fords are real good aren't they, he never bragged about them again.

Honestly im not chevy bashing.... we dont seem to have the greatest luck with them is all!

I man once told me cars trucks and tractors they all are great when there UP and suck when there DOWN!

And truthfully i believe the BEST truck out there would be a combination of all three

FORD CHASSIS (honestly the strongest frame) (have u seen what frank does to his???)

ALLISON TRANSMISSION (the 6 speed with the shift buttons on the shifter!) cant beat the system

CHEVY INTERIOR (certainly the most confortable truck to ride in)

CUMMINS ENGINE (good old inline 6 cylinder design just like the big boys)

Well i guess dodge got its but kicked....

Sorry Ray... the trucks look GREAT! i didnt mean to start anything (actually all i said was "yuck chevys") LOL

Nice picture Ray! She did a nice job washing them, they are looking good.

Sorry to hear that your having such terrible truck problems though. Don't worry, if you keep working hard, someday you will get far enough ahead so that you can get yourself a Ford!

HEY RAY,

at least ford is trying! chevys diesel is made by Isuzu and dodges diesel is made by cummins!

Im not 100 percent sure but i thought the 6.0 and 6.4 were still pretty much international. I know ford has designed the 6.7 from the ground up.
i talked to someone that has a 6.7 and they say its got stupid power.... we dont know how there gonna last yet... gotta get a few of them up over 100k or even 200 and we will see! hehe well im glad u had fun on your ford rant! all in good fun!

Ford has built Diesels for years, a lot of bigger trucks and Ford Tractors have Ford motors. And while I am at it the 6.9/7.3 International Diesels were converted gas Motors. GM tried that way back in the 1960's and it didn't then either.

I believe the SB Chevy was designed by Studebaker. Compare the SB Chevy with the 235 6 Cylinder models before it, the SB was a totally different motor.

Did Chevy every build a Flathead??

Don't Google it and cheat. :D :D

I have never heard any connection between the SBC and Studebaker. I'm sure Chevy probably built a flathead at one time maybe in the 20s. I know they used their first V-8 in like 1917 or 1918 in a truck but I don't know if it was a flathead or an OHV.

Yes Chevy did a flathead, in fact they built 2, a L head 4 cyl and a T head 6 cyl, both back during WW1.

Now did Chevy ever build a Hemi??
