Winter Snow and Storm Pics
With the request of starting a thread of snow removal for the up coming year, I thought Id take Tom up on his idea. So post your pics of your snow removal pics here, in action or line up of what you use.

Gee Vince wish I could help you out but we have had less than 3" total all year. We are about 40" less than we had last year at this time. But I'm not complaining.
I couldn't wait for success, so I went ahead without it.

Re: 2012 Snow and Storm Pics
Here's my snow removal fleet (the Cub Cadets stay in the garage or shed)..... The 4x4 truck and the AWD SUV don't remove it, they just drive through it. If they cain't drive through it, we stay home Actually we don't normally get that much snow, maybe some ice, but not much snow. We may get one heavy or deep snow once every 10-12 years, and I think that's due in another couple of years. The houses are close enough together there's not any place to throw it or push it except the neighbors house/yard and he wouldn't like that, nor would I. Someone asked why I had a 4x4, and my answer was: 1), It was on the truck, and 2) seems like everytime I go to PA, it snows....... or is that white grass growing.
May you always have as many landings as you do takeoff's.........

Re: 2012 Snow and Storm Pics
Find the humor: I was working on the 2082 w/blower today and thinking to myself all this time spent on the blower and we have no snow. Came inside to check the weather and NO snow predicted in Northern Illinois for the next 10 days. Then I logged onto the Club Website and read this topic about 2012 Storm pics….so here is what I’m thinking, maybe the blower unit would be more comfortable under a blanket!!!. But everybody laughed at NOAH too.

Re: 2012 Snow and Storm Pics
Wait Wait Wait, I almost forgot about this snowfall, although it technically happened in 2011. December 17, 2011 to be exact. It was a whopping 2”, which included the drifts. I couldn’t resist using the blower. And neither could my wife, who took the picture to prove to the court system that I’m a little crazy. So if this does not qualify for the 2012 Snow Storm Pictures, please refer to my earlier post and picture of the blower.

Re: 2012 Snow and Storm Pics
Dan, you're a better man than me if you are putting that blower on and off multiple times a season. Once mine goes on it stays; too much work to be moving them on and off. Also, just a thought, I have found that the drift cutters are best left turned down until needed. I was always running into them when walking around the machine, they don't do anything in less than 2 foot of snow, and are in the way when working the tractor close to things like car paint, vinyl siding, etc. But, as per Lew, they do make nice blankie holders...
Oh, and nice looking setup! (Tractor and blower, not the blankie...)

Re: 2012 Snow and Storm Pics
Well not a whole lot yet but it's coming down pretty good out there, about 3 to 4 so far so I'm using the blade. It's powder.
Can't see putting the seat back on the 126 till I really need that one
At least the ground is good and frozen. The big problem is my clutch foot is really bothering me

Re: 2012 Snow and Storm Pics
So far this year I have been using the blade fitted 102 to clean up what little snow we have had.
Finally, a bonafide thrower using snow storm shows up today.
My Son stopped by to lend a hand after plowing his driveway, his shift gets over way before mine so guess what one he jumped onto when he showed up?

Re: 2012 Snow and Storm Pics
Great pics everybody! Down here in the south some winter snows can be a "mother" and some years hardly any frozen precip. I currently work for TDOT and all my snow removal action will be on state roads using state equipment. So no seat time for me on the 149 or original while I'm on call w/the state. Old school myth down here: count how many fogs in August and that is how many snows...we had 14 major fogs this year in middle Tennessee. I hope the old schooler's myth will be gentle on us this year. Push'n snow on I-65 down the "widow maker" @ MM 103 going to Nashville can be a rude awakening!

Hardly any snow last year. And none so far this year.
This will probably be my team if we get some snow.

Re: 2012 Snow and Storm Pics
Our first real storm for this season has arrived. There's about seven inches at this point and it's pretty wet stuff.
There's no point doing a total mop up job until the storm's end. Much to my surprise this time around the 126 touched right off and the 102 faltered, usually it's exactly the other way.
I should have started up the 102 about three weeks ago to give the battery a charge up- it had been sitting for a long while but for the time being I'm using the battery from the 126 for both while the weak one takes a charge on the bench.
As thick as that snow is the QA42 was doing a very nice job tossing it right where I wanted it to go

I have yet to get a front chain on either the 683 or 1650 and they do have a mind of their own about steering in snow!

Even though the weather guessers said we might get a dusting we got about 4".The snow crew has yet to be identified for the season. When the time comes(when the wife asks if I am going to clean up snow)I will put chains and thrower/blade on something. The older I get the more I see Pauls point of view......I'm just to dumb to move

Hey mods! Can we rename this sticky "Cubs on Snow and Storm Duty Pics" or something like that. We can drop the date and see how big this thread gets one winter after another.

Re: Winter Snow and Storm Pics
I'll start the season with the first boring pic of an unmanned tractor!
1872 suited up with the Haban blade, loaded tires, wheel weights and chains. Knocked out 6-1/2" of heavy wet stuff last night. More coming tomorrow. Ok, time to start landing some better pics on here. Need some good action shots. Show what you got. I will try to get someone to man (woman) the camera for me tomorrow.

Re: Winter Snow and Storm Pics
We had about 7 inches on Friday, with Ice under it, we got another dusting last night and my tractor has been safely sleeping in the yard barn this whole time. Pushing snow with a layer of ice under it just isn't much fun... so the blade isn't even on the tractor.
Ronnie, good deal on the "new" tractor. If you like it now, add hydro angle to that blade and you'll be in love.
