BB I have a gravel drive so until it freezes I push more driveway than snow. At the moment I appreciate the layer of ice under the snow. Chains work.

BTW I spent last weekend in Dallas enjoying their 3" of ice and no salt or plows.

Where I live we all have aggregate drives in my sub-division so Chains would be a no-no here. Rubber tires, and I usually have some kind of rubber or hard plastic cutting edge as to not harm anyone's drive.

This country boy really needs to get out of the sub-division and move back to the country.

Well, mine's not an action shot either, cory was busy manning a shovel and cleaning the deck off! The diesel got plenty of work yesterday and today, and bb's right, there's nothing like a power angle plow!

The valve will work, and I am not sure about the valve mount? You will need the handles, contact Mike Mesheris, he used to make the dual handles?

And you will need the front hoses as the metal lines from the 1650 will not work.

I didn't get time to get a photographer involved today, so I took my own "selfie" action shot from the 1872 as the Haban did its thing down the widow maker drive. Pics just don't do justice to steep hills, they tend to flatten everything. I have been spoiled by power angle; I couldn't imagine having a blade without it now!

After my driveway, over to the neighbors through the woods. These are shots of the return trip. Tractor in distance because the subject is the beautiful day we were given. This was late afternoon, and wasn't as good as the morning when everything had that blue snow hue to it. Everything looked like it came out of a classic Christmas card.

As far as pushing snow on stone drives, I read years ago on a larger tractor forum that the trick is to cut a slot in an ABS pipe (about 2" diameter) and clamp it over the cutting edge. The pipe allowed the blade to float over most of the stone and only push the snow. The guys that did it discovered that the ABS held up much better than PVC (which broke much easier in the cold). My neighbors drive is stone, I want to try it one day if I ever get caught up enough.

Well the flat tire on the tractor has been changed. An easy job for sure, except the wheel was frozen onto the axle shaft. Yup this was on the other side from the frozen wheel I went after this summer. (Don't ask me why I didn't R&R and grease this wheel too)

6' Long digging pry bar and a few well placed impacts on the inside of the wheel from the other side of the tractor persuaded the wheel off. Axle cleaned and another wheel installed with a bit of white grease for good measure.

I just love working outside at 17F!

Had a chance last Sunday to try my QA42A on my 1650 after I changed the qa drive pulley to a smaller size and it worked great in the 8" of snow we had.

Good Morning folks ! And HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
Well, the weather man says we have another foot coming over the next couple days so that means push the stuff I already got back as far as I can NOW so there's room for later  The picture is deceptive, there's a 15 foot drop off in back of that tractor- just filling that hole that's all :P

Our last storm was on Sunday and it is being billed as the great slush storm, I had to clean the satellite dish FOUR times during the Eagles Cowboys game. That's about as many times I have to do it in one Winter. We lost power at 5:30 AM Monday but it was out for just five hours or so.
What I could not get off the ground iced up and I am having some traction issues. If it gets much worse I'll just have to call in the sand truck.

You northern guys that get snow.... actual snow need something bigger than a cub.

Where I live a cub is fine for the teeny tiny amount of snow we get, but if I had the feet of snow you all get sometimes, I'd have something with a heated cab for snow removal! :)

My perspective is that pushing snow is fun but when you need to move snow and get inside where it's warm a snow thrower is the way.
This winter it has been easier to use the Toro CCR1000 than put the blade on the 2072 or fight with the &$!*% 2 stage on the 882......in fact anyone looking for a 2 stage snow chucker?
