Ken,
I'm in deep, Jill agrees on the childhood thing :D

Ordered a turbo kit andtalked to the guy who did my PCM tune, he can do everything I need in the computer.

Chevy will have its own Eco-Boost soon.

Bryan,
KB Racing and the same one fits the 5.3
Finished it today!!!
Started last weekend, about 12-14 solid hours working by myself.
But my computer isn't back from the tuner yet!!! Should be here tomorrow.
4.8L is 195 hp stock, this adds 115 hp without the intercooler.
I might black out the Flex Fuel tag on the tailgate and have a decal made that says EEK-O Boost

What's that run? Cost wise?

I've been pretty pleased with my flew fuel 5.3 as far as power goes, but I'm intrigued! :) It's out of warranty anyway!

Nice work!

Wow... Approx. 60% power increase, eh...?! (195 + 115) It'll be interesting to find out what percentage your fuel consumption also rises by...

Cheers,

I am my Fathers Son.I was asked if I looked at the EchoBoost and said "I'm not having anything to do with turbos, just more stuff to break down"

Bryan,
$2,500 for the kit.
Luckily I get a decent reimbursement for the truck so it doesn't hurt too much.
Dang computer got held up won't get it till tomorrow.

Wow!
Started off with a little hitch. I had hit one of the plugs when I installed the turbo header and thought, ahhhh, that wasn't bad.
It had a miss but would spool up and take off. Headed to my daughters for a test ride and kicked it down hard on 66N went about 2 seconds and heard a loud FWUMP. Blew the connection off the throttle body, didn't tighten the hose clamp enough. Didn't have a screw driver so I had to tighten the hose clamp with a pair of needle nose till I got to Sara's.
Well, after checking the code and finding cylinder #4 misfire I had to replace the plug. I cracked it with the header, oh well.
Code is clear, truck runs great! Only problem is now if I light it up, my stabilitrac light stays on for a while 8-)

Got to get a video of it.

Only problem is it's gonna sit in the airport parking lot all next week.
No driving next week..... grrrrrrr......

I thought I mentioned something about the feeling I had about the right rear tire losing a considerable amount of tread since I showed you how to do that!

Back in my days of youth I would pull my old van into the wash bay at the coin wash and do a two wheel smokey burn out until the bay was pouring smoke from both ends

Yeah it's all good unless you left it in drive and it caught second gear and starting sliding sideways.... Or so I've heard! :)

Hey man... that was both tires!

The one shorter one never really spooled up the turbo.
