Looks like a sweet ride Lorin. I had alot of fun with my first vehicle, 1980 f-150. Your truck was brand new when i got mine. R u think of fixing it up or will it pass inspection like it is. U might b able to just find a good used bed for it if the other side looks the same. Or you know what is really fun (and cost effective sometimes) buy another parts trk.....should not be too hard to find one of those. Have fun and keep us posted, or make a video.lol Dave

There are those that consider that generation among GM's best. The military like them as well- when the whole product line was updated in 88 the goverment continued to contract purchase the previous generation along with the K5 Blazers right until around 1991.
Get yourself a catalogue from LMC truck or check their web site, they carry anything that you will ever need for it.
Fixmyrust.com has an extensive selection of both patch on or weld in body parts as well, and I can tell you they fit right, are priced nice, and are of very good quality. Good luck-

Lorin you could always use a road sign for a floor patch. LOL
I couldn't wait for success, so I went ahead without it.

I hate to be that guy but there is serious issue you may encounter with this truck, the front light "Rack" suggest he have been used for snow plowing so both diff need to be seriously inspect, frame too. You looking at "Intensive" body work here, If it was mine I find another, swap the mechanic or at least find a good bed and cab for it and hire a high pressure water jet blasting service to clean the frame and suspension. It's faster, cheaper and less messy to clean.

Some may just see a gem who just need to be polish to shine looking at this truck! Been there done that before, I never wear pink glass. It can be a nice looking workhorse truck but not without a "gigantic" amount a elbow oil! Looking at your picture I see 2 young "Padawan" ready to get their hands dirty! Good chance this bring priceless memory moments to share.

Wish you lot of fun!
