450 snow blower
A shot in the dark here. I lost the manual for my 450 snow blower. Is there some where I can get a pdf file so I can finish my refurbish. Thanks Don T

Thanks Jeff
I want to know what I should put into the gear box for lube. I don`t have a CC dealer handy and will use synthetic in it . Thanks Don T

Re: 450 snow blower
According to the manual, the impeller gear box (rear) takes 8 oz of Plastilube (pn 737-0133). I could only find this at my local cub dealer and it was expensive ($18? for 8 oz tube). The main gearbox (front) takes 4 oz of Shell Alvania Grease EPR00 (pn 737-0168), again, found at local cub dealer. Not as expensive as the Plastilube, but not cheap either.

Re: 450 snow blower
Don - As many greases don't mix well, and may not protect all those valuable NLA parts, I would use the Cub specified lubes. Several of us have tried to find the Plastilube outside of Cub without success. The other grease for the front auger gearbox is not too crazy expensive from Cub, so it just makes sense to buy that as well.

The manual for the 450 and 451 are available from MTDs site. Free. They have a LOT of them on there.

Just enter the model number and make up a serial number UNLESS the manual if for some tractors where the serial number does make a difference.
This should take you to the page you need. Click accept and it should download the 450 manual

Re: 450 snow blower
synthetic grease will work cold enough to be suitable for us in the bear box.
