Farmall h clutch bad problem
Ok I was pulling last year and I think I messed up my 48 day old clutch at the time, can anyone pinpoint what my problem might be. I need answers as I am replacing my front end this weekend on it as the big cast piece is cracked. The tractor moves but when the clutch isn't engaged it will make a high pitched buzz and it sounds like something is wrong? Depressing it makes this noise. Is the throw out bearing bad because it moved around in lateral play. It was wiggly. Hm? Any thoughts on what it might be. Here is some pictures

can you get the noise to stop? I.E. in gear or just hold the clutch in a certain spot or when disengaging the clutch (pushing the clutch pettle down). if it were the input shaft bearing i would thing it would be a growl sound "could be wrong", my guess would be the throw out bearing. everything is made so cheap these days i see new bearings go out in 300 hrs all the time working on case combines. not every one but there's a lot.

https://youtu.be/W0C9JgQaJL8 Here is the video. You will hear that groan a little ways in. When you depress the clutch it makes a Terrible noise. The throw out bearing is really loose. Moves 1/8 inch front to back

I never broke the clutch in. Installed and 46 days later pulled with it the whole throw out bearing mechanism moves slightly? It started to do it at show a little but would stop 1/2 sec later. Hm maybe just needs broke in until it started making the noise longer and longer until 1 time I pressed it and it sat there for 30 sec howling

Lorin - You're scaring me with that hodgepodge of cribbing holding up that front end!
You need to invest in some bigger timbers or large jack-stands if you can afford it. That is enough weight there to do some real damage to you if it comes down!
Just don't want to see you get hurt...

Oh yeah, sorry bout that Dave, I had the tractor forks under it the whole time except when I took the picture! The brakes were locked and it was in gear with the tractor holding it. It wasn't going anywhere.
