Dag and Cal , I was going for the old skool look . It's a 1974 which happens to be the year I graduated from high school , and Cragar SS chrome mags were all the rage back then . It also has the large holographic metal flake paint that unluckily doesn't photograph very well but sparkles when in the sun .

You'll need 8-) on a sunny day .

As soon as we get a nice sunny day I'll post some good pictures of it from all sides .

Well, 73 was the zenith music year of the decade, we had everything from BW Stevenson to Bad Company, Alice Cooper and Kiss. Star Land Vocal band? come on now really? I'm not even going to debate the point
Your doing one heck of fine job Jess and I've been watching your progress. You should be proud of it. Have you though about a bare foot gas pedal?
The Cragar SS, oh yeah baby! The early ones had what came to be known as the rain ring. The water would lay in the bead groove and rust the chrome. Later on they changed that so the water would run off on it's own.

Thanks Ken.... learn something new every day. Somehow radio has been able to bury this bw Stevenson guy for the last 25 yrs. My country music station only play that new pop stuff. I just pulled up a few songs and he is good! I don't know how I never heard before. Right now I'm into Jimmy pages creativity in Zeppelin.
Oh.... somehow....were gonna need to see this go cart in person. Do u ever get up north Jess.....

I had to Wikipedia BW Stevenson , didn't know him , I not big on country music . But Jimmy Page and Led Zepplin yeah man ! 8-) I really liked the live Celebration Day concert they did about 10 years ago . The 70's had some great rock groups . I liked Bad Company , Aerosmith , AC-DC , Pink Floyd and the closest thing to country I listened to was ZZ top or Kansas ..... .

Thinking back to all the crazy stuff I did in my youth , I'm surprised I survived the 70's .

BW Stevenson... "Buck Wheat". I haven't thought of him in years.
A bit of trivia.
He recorded a song called "Shambala" which did OK but did not burn up the charts.
A short while later 3 Dog Night released the song and it went to #1.
BW and his co-writer (I forget his name) re-wrote the lyrics to Shambala and they
came up with "My Maria", his biggest hit before he passed away at a very early age.

Now, back on topic.

Hey, we be talkin about the 70's why should we?
It's been speculated Stevenson's My Maria was tribute to the virgin mother but nobody's really sure. He fell under the category of Progressive Country.
Stevenson, Jim Croche, and Harry Chapin all met their demise in their thirties, Elvis was only 42.
Jess, you forgot The Who, Humble Pie, Genesis, Yes, ABBA, The Brothers Johnson, Sweet, Blue Oyster Cult, ELO, ELP, Aretha Franklin, Wild Cherry, Bonney M, Neil Diamond, David Bowie, Dan Fogelberg, Carley Simon, Billy Joel, and on and on.
Just so much musical diversity in those days the likes of which have since to be rivaled all at the turn of a knob.
Oh wow man, I think I'm having a flashback

Yeah the 70's had a wide diversity of music .

Bryan here's some pictures you can show your mom including a picture of what it looked like when I drug it home from your mom and dads place .

All that remains is mounting the two golf car side mirrors that I have on order and a good hand polishing .

And just to let you guys know that I'm still into my cubs , the last picture is my next restoration project . It should be a lot easier than the Pargo was .

Awesome looking cart Jess. As usual you do such nice work I'm sure the pictures don't come close to the real thing. Maybe it needs an 8 track player for fun. Glad to see my cub family still going strong and thinking I may even come get a ride in that beauty if AW has another PD. :ugeek:

Eight track players. Play the first three crappy songs over again just to get back to the fourth good one
Like VHS it was around longer than it should have been, the last one produced in 1982.
The last 8 track tape? Fleetwood Mac's Greatest hits, 1988. No crappy tunes on that one ;)
