I love having the loader, but it is limited on a machine this size that is only two wheel drive. I have pretty serious counterweight, two sets of 60# wheel weights and rear tires are filled with Rim Guard, but I still lose traction with real heavy bucket loads on hills. In addition, the bucket shape does not allow large objects.

Enter the carry-all... This is the one I primarily use to support the aerator (until I weld up a proper mount for the aerator ). It was originally a Cat-1 item from TSC that I cut on to make it Cat-0 friendly.

Anyway, I've been battling a giant widowmaker oak for a month, was over 100' tall and 28" diameter, and stayed 24" diameter for a long way up. As I've been blocking it down, chunk by chunk, I've littered my landing area to the point I had to move some wood out. The big trunk rounds are just not loader friendly in size and weight. The Cat-0 hitch can't pick up as much weight as the loader, but the carry all can hold larger diameter wood and puts all the weight on the rear wheels. Perfect for digging my way uphill out of the woods.

My message here is, if you can't afford a loader, a rear hitch and carry all can get a lot done. If you're on the fence for a rear sleeve or Cat-0 hitch, get one, you won't regret the options it opens up!

Are you allowed to have a burn pile in your area?

Rick, yes, the loader is very nice and works well, but while you're waiting, consider a rear hitch. It's really nice to have the hitch on a loader tractor because your not contending with operating a mower deck at the same time.

Colin - I could have a burn pile, but no point for me. 2/3 of my property is woods, so if I drop a tree in the woods, the small stuff stays there to rot and feed the next generation of trees. In this case, I had already moved a lot of the brush and limbs to a brush pile I have in another area, but most of it is still up top in the hung tree. In the first pic, you can see the original stump in the background and the stem in the foreground, which is still hung but much shorter. I just keep carefully blocking 3' pieces off the bottom and using come-alongs to move the stem sideways. I've been cutting for many years and this is my worst hang up. It happens. As long as you get it down without dying, you win!

That carry all hitch is nice, I only have IH cub cadets I assume that would work w mine. Already have a b21 kubota for commercial stuff just thought be nice for the novelty to have a nice cub cadet w a loader. That is a nice option you put on yours for sure

Loaders are great, just remember it’s on a garden tractor! I had to replace a rear differential for a guy who had a 72 but thought it was a D8! With the supers I have a 1872 with the same loader tom has. I have about 400lbs in the weight box plus 75 on each tire. Dam thing gets stuck everywhere! Just use it like a wheel barrel and it should do fine! It works good for moving mower decks small yard/construction tools/supplies. It also does a good job moving a few pieces of fire wood without lifting and it would do a good job getting into tight spaces, just remember it’s not a skider either! Use it right and it’s a great tool! Over use it and it will brake and/or you’ll be stuck!
