2082 no hydro functions

Post by kbrothers »

Went to take my 2082 and small trailer to haul some stuff for hunting camp; tractor started and runs fine but doesn't move or pick up the three point hitch Fluid level seems ok but a little milky or foamy Grandson thinks maybe it might be frozen fluid It is out side in the weather What do you think? Should I try cvering with a tarp and throw the Big Buddy heater on it to see if I can get it into shed TIA for any thoughts and/or suggestions Ken in Pa Happy Thanksgiving to all too!! :D

Ken - Based on your info, frozen fluid sounds like the most likely cause. Hopefully you haven't damaged the charge pump or anything else in the hydro.

Careful, heater with tarp could equal fire. I would probably try to thaw it out enough to tow it safely. If that is not possible, I would want to be sure that the fluid is good and thawed out before trying to drive it again.

Ideally get it into a shop you can heat and get it good and thawed out. Pull the rear cover to make sure you are getting all the bad stuff out, then new fluid and filter.
