Ready for the snow

Post by gladiator801 »

Spent some time yesterday getting ready for the snow[ now that I am ready it will not snow ;-]. Put chains on the old 1541 with loaded tires and mounted the snow blade. Tuned up the old 1332 commercial snow thrower , fresh gas , greased and oiled it, sprayed Teflon slip paint on inside of shute, aired tires and started and ran it for a few minutes. Want to see how well the 1541 does pushing snow with hydrostatic drive [ does it need to warm up in cold weather to work good? ] Thanks Jim

Not really, but on really cold days it may take some time before you get going. As with the motor a warm up is good.

My 1641, a "new" Cub for me. 1st hydro. Likes to warm up for the hydro to work normal.
Only takes a minute at idle. Grandsons love the hydro.

48" SD deck, excellent. The dozer blade, fine.
I'm thinking power angle, dismounting to change angle, a pain.
Chains and wheel make a lot of difference; not shown in the pic.
