This is where we can discuss all the stuff made after IH's sale to MTD.

Quick attach loader slop/play

Post by MattS »

I started using my kwik way loader on my 2182 for the first time. It works great, but there is a ton of slop in this thing. Is this normal for a quick attach loader?

This is my first experience with a quick attach type loader, so I don't know if this is the nature of the beast or what. It seems like most of the play is where the uprights sit in the sub frame.

Matt - Mine doesn't seem to move much; perhaps review their instructions and make sure you are not missing the braces that go down from the top of the uprights to the pump or any other attachment pieces. Also, make sure all the connections to the tractor frame are tight.

My KW loader doesn't move either except for maybe in the pin areas.

I tightened the supports for the uprights, which helped, but my pins/holes are worn. I think I'll just deal with it untill spring. I don't need an outdoor winter project right now.

Matt - I see in your profile you are a machinist. Based on my experience with the machinists I have worked with, you will end up making it better than new by the time your done! ;)

I think I'm just gonna add some bushings to the top pivot points of the loader and maybe a bolt flange were the loader meets the sub frame. It should be rock solid after that.
