Blower 451 on 2072 ????

Just wondering if any one has mounted a 451 to a 2072? From what i hear mounting should work ,but it is more in the gearing or pulleys that may need changed? Gears sound hard and $$$ to change but if it's just pulleys that sounds good. Tractor pto bigger or smaller? blower pulley bigger smaller? any help would be great. Dave. I think there is a couple things to take into consideration. You will need a adapter kit for a super. It is basically a couple lowering plates because the super stands taller. Second if your PTO pulley is 6" you will be good to go.

MY front pulley is 4.5" in dia. now would that make the 451 run to fast or to s l o w ? I'm thinking of my ten speed bike gears ??? Dave

Smaller pulley will run it S l O W
Two options for that. Replace the 451 drive gearbox with one from a 450 OR replace the PTO clutch with one from a later tractor with the larger pulley. Or you could make up a clutch pulley that does both.

Thanks for your help Bryan, I was talking with Ray W. last night about that sweet 982 hot off the farm he has for sale, and the topic of my blower came up and he also said about the 6" pto pully, sounds pretty easy . It looks like the belt will just fit though the lower sheet metal. Dave
