2284 known issues?

Post by SWilliams »

Have a line on a 2284 locally. Bare model with P/S and turning brakes only. Seems to be in good shape and runs good. 60" deck. I was thinking about adding the three point from my 1641 and the front outlets as well. They may have a blower as well.
What should I look over close just to make sure it's OK?

Look under the tractor at the front mounts on the transaxle. The bolts loosen and it cracks the aluminum housing.

That is one of the items I am unfortunately aware of. I had to do a repair on my 1641 because of stripped threads. I went and looked closer today and may be having it delivered Saturday. Figure I should test it out first.

Steve - Good to see you again. I can't remember if you have had a Super previously, but if it is salvageable you won't regret it. I smile every time someone gets over the plastic issue and saves one of these. From what I remember, you have a 450 snowblower; a Super is nice to have for those big blowers.

I hope you get the tractor. Take care, Tom
