Super Garden Tractor Lowering Kit for 451 blower

Post by TractorDan »

I'm having no luck finding a lowering kit/Carriage Bracket Extension Kit to connect my 451 blower to my 2082. If anybody has these brackets on thier unit, would you be so kind as to take some measurements of the plate size and hole centers? "If man can think it, Man can make it" time.

The origianal kit part number is "Carriage Bracket Extension Kit 190-529"…this has everything, belt, hardware, spacers. I can piece together the kit but the item I can’t find is part number 784-5407 Carriage Extension Bracket quantity 2 (Right & Left) these I will make.

Yes, I sent emails to the vendors listed, those that have responded said "NO" they don't have the part.

Ray has had them made in the past. You need to call Ray (not email), usually best in the evening, like 8 pm or so.

Ray Weaver did have them fabricated and I purchased some from him last year.

They are nothing special. Just grab some 3/16" stee,. Cut it so it bridges the lower two holes with an inch or so overlap. The second set of lower holes should be about 3" or so lower. Then bend them in the middle to offset them enough so they end up the same as the original frame width. They drop the blower pivots down to compensate for the taller tires on the supers. Without them the blower will set nose down and not work properly.

If you need a better measurement drive the front tires onto a 1"-1 1/2" thick board. Now pull the lower pin out of the mount and attach the mount to the tractor. Now lift the pivot up so it stops but the blower sets level on the floor. Measure the distance between the holes for the pin.

Dan,

The simplest thing would be to send that 2082 my way.
Since that’s probably not going to happen, here is some info.

The extension plates are made from 3/16 inch steel and are 5.25 x 4 inches.

The holes are 5/8th. They are 3 5/8th center to center horizontally and 2.5 vertically center to center.

The plates have an offset bend for the thickness of the plates. I would think a couple flat washers would work fine.

Good luck,

Ike

You would be better with the bent offset. It helps keep the blower tracking straight by acting as a guide for the pivots. 2.5 - 3" works well. Especially if you run ags or tri-ribs as they tend to be taller than turf tires.

Perfect, thank you for the great responses. Appreciate the pictures of the actual plates and the picture of the mounted blower on the tractor. I went to a freinds house last night to look at his blower unit, as he does not have the extension plates. The Blower hits the ground, however it is on a slight angle, and upon raising the unit it noses down first and then raises. I beleave he is now aware of the extra parts needed and will be adding them prior to winter. As I will be too.
Thanks,
Danny

Here is a quick drawing of the plate. Holes are symmetrical so the dimensions work for all 4 holes.
The 4 " is the finished height so I would probably make the bend first, or make a test part and see what the offset allowance would be.

Nice Steve. Thanks for taking the effort to post the drawing. In addition, to the earlier photos, I have more than I need to get this done.

I bought these pieces about 2 years ago from my dealer.
They're probably still available now.

i have the complete kit. I had the brackets made by a friend who is a metal fabricator. I have one original bracket and the other one is fabricated. I have the spacers, belt, and bolts. Let me know if interested. You can call/text me at 7162891413 because I rarely check in on this site. I bought the parts this winter but never installed the blower. I have a 2084 and it is the same part number, 529 and I had a 451 blower.
Thanks,
Earl
