Magnum 18 starter parts needed

Post by dag1450 »

I'm still doing small repairs in an effert to get the engine back in the 1811. One of the last things i needed to do was remove the frozen nut on the starter terminal (The wire crimp connecter broke upon removal ). So i have the starter on the bench trying to get the nut off and i cracked the brush holder inside :x :x . Does anyone know if this can be bought by itself, or maybe with brushes. The starter looks very new so i hate to buy a new one. any contacts or help would be great. Thanks Dave

The brush kit doesn't include that piece. I think your best bet would be to put in a want and and see if anybody has a junk starter they can take one out of.

Happy to report that i have the starter back together. My local starter rebuild shop gave me the brush holder i needed. He said that brush holder was used from the late 60's to today by american bosch, the company that makes those starters. Thanks Dave
