782 wiring harness

my 782 wiring harness has a issue up by the ignition switch the plug is mostly shot is the plug the same as the 1650 yes i no buy a new harness i will just need to finish thanks
have snow must plow

Ronnie,
not sure about the 1650,but you can cut off all the wires to the plug and put new terminals on and then connect them to the switch.
use the plug as a guide for proper connectivity.

im fairly certain the 782 uses the run of the mill 5 prong ign switch connector... if so they are readily available for pennies and the "gm 56" connectors are easily had also... for pennies. a few minutes with a pair of needle nose plyrs and some solder and a soldering iron and you can fix that for under 10 bucks including shipping. A new harness may run you upwards of 100 dollars. Also you may want to replace the switch which i believe is fairly inexpensive also... just search ebay for the part number. i wanna say a switch is like 15 bucks

and u need these terminals
http://www.pcsconnectors.com/2973422.aspx 19 cents each.. u need 5
and the switch
925-3021 couldnt find one on ebay so it looks like its a dealer for 28 bucks... if yours is too far gone.
