diesel vs gas tractor value
Recently a very very nice 1872 was for sale near me. It was one of the nicest I ever saw. It sold in less than 24hrs for full price $2000. No 3pnt, rear pto or deck just tractor. This got me thinking what would an equally equipped and conditioned 1572 or 1772 be worth. I have been told a diesel is worth$1000 more than a gas version. Now add a 3pnt and /or a rear pto and deck which all together should be worth at least another $1000 and your up to $4000. What's your oppinion?
1572 3pnt rear PTO 50" deck, 1772 3pnt 50" deck, 1872 3pnt 44" deck, 2072 50" deck, three brinly 3pnt plows, 54 inch snow plow, cat 0 york rake.

It all veries because diesel although worth more generally if the tractor was produced in 100s of thousands then it may not be worth as much as one model with only 10000 made so it really varies between hours and production numbers

Re: diesel vs gas tractor value
Someone must have wanted it badly I guess. When I had my 1572 late last year I never got a single offer at $3000 and very few at $2500 and they were borderline insulting. People offering 1500-1800 when I was at 3000. I got mad and hung up on multiple occasions trying to get rid of a nice tractor I used weekly all while trying to sell. Even plowed my garden with it the week before it did sell. Tractor had 3 pt, ags, 50" deck, turning brakes, power steering, front blade, low hours. I went through months of annoyance to sell it for barely more than what the tractor you're talking about sold for and had to sell the deck and weights separate with the hitch and options about to go next . Just something to compare with. I thought diesels were worth a lot to but the reality is when you get into the thousands it's hard to get what anything is worth nowadays.

There may be a differance in price depending where you are located. I have seen this 1872 go for $2000, another 1872 with deck go for $2175, a 982 with rear pto, 3pnt and deck for $2625 and another rougher 1872 with deck for $1800. The guy that bought the one for $2000 drove 3hrs and paid full price and the seller had a bunch of emails he did not even answer the tractor sold in about 12 hrs. I thought the 982 was worth more. I would not sell one of my diesels for less than $3000 especially the 1772. I guess it does not matter because they are not for sale.

Re: diesel vs gas tractor value
It must be the part of the country because I have a bunch of Gas and Diesel supers up for sale and NO bites!
I did sell 90% of my parts and implements over the last two weeks. Sent three trailer loads down the road.
All that is left are the supers one original, chipper shredders and a few other items.
I never figured I'd sell the parts but a guy that bought a bunch of tractors 3 or 4 years back bought the parts.
