1772 lift problem

Post by drcjv »

It seems (and I am not sure why or what changed becaused everything was working fine) that my lift lever is now hitting the upper edge of the opening in the dash not allowing the linkage enough travel to push the valve in to move the cylinder. I tried to move the valve up on the steering column but it really did not move too much. It seemed to be limited by the solid lines going down to the steering box not sure if they should move up or not. I diconnected the linkage and pushed the valve in to see if lift would move to rule out other problems and it moved fine. The only thing I discovered was the nuts that hold the lever bracket to the side of the tractor were not real tight so I tried to realign to get more travel but was unable to do so. I need help plow day is coming up.

Check all your dash tower bolts and work with the lever to see if you can fit it to where it will work. Check your hydraulic fluid level too. Often the lever and linkage can just get a little out of place and screw this whole deal up. It's gotta be just right for it to work :|
