Cub cadet1535 rear end
Does the aluminum 3 speed rear end have the bigger axles like the hydros, are the aluminum creepers different than the steel ones? I know nothing about these any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Cub cadet1535 rear end
A 1535 will have the larger 30mm axles. I think the aluminum creeper basically has the same internals as the iron one. I have two, but I haven't installed or looked at either one very close. Bought one for my 582, then found a cheap one on ebay, then never installed either one. I probably shouldn't with the 800# spring I have in my 582.

Would there be any advantage in changing it a cast iron case. Thanks

Other than to gain weight, probably not. I wouldn't bother unless something breaks in the aluminum one.

Re: Cub cadet1535 rear end
on th alum stick shift trannys every one I tore down had wasted 1st and 2nd gears even working ones the shift forks seem to wear in the case and not line up right anymore if there is a slight issue I swap a cast rear in its place
on the alum creeper most time guys pull them out is cause they leak a dealer one time told me to fix some guys up he had some NOS creepers he charged them 100.00 out to put a cast creeper in its place told me he wished later he kept his NOS creepers but they just took them out if they did not need them

Wayne ,
I've had two of those 1535's and there not a bad machine , other than the plastic front parts .
15 h.p. magnum is supposedly a derated 18 h.p. magnum . Matts right about the larger axles .
I never had any problems with creeper or rearend on either of mine , maybe I've been lucky.
Low fuel light , tilt wheel , three turn steering box with a tighter turning radius than the 82 series .
My 1535 with a 50C mowing deck is my primary mower right now and I like it .

I see a lot of cub cadets while going down the tracks , its a shame I can't pull over and ask about them .
