This is where we can discuss all the stuff made after IH's sale to MTD.

Post by red82s »

Does anyone know if the inline coolant heater 759-3159 is still available for the diesels? I've got the block heater part number also but was interested in the inline heater. thanks

I'm pretty sure that went NLA a couple of years ago, unfortunately.

You might try a web search for Katz (spelling??) or Zerostart to see if either of them make one that will work. I believe the hose size is 1".

You could probably also plumb in a tank type circulating heater.

I got the heater installed yesterday. Where do you guys run the cord?
I've got mine running out the left bottom corner of the grill.

I just have mine zip tied up near the top of the engine and leave the hood open when I plug it in.

I've got to pick up some more zip ties so I think I'll try that or maybe another location where I can possibly leave the hood down.

Adrian,
Did you get the 400, or 600 watt version? This will be my first winter with the 1782. It will be under the shelter I built earlier this year, but still outside and I'm worried I might have issues starting it. I see a 14400 and 14600 for the Kat's version.

I have the 14400. I recommend taking the radiator hose off. I tried doing it with it still connected underneath the tractor but it was too cramped to get a good grip on the hose and heater to connect them.

Ok,
I'm thinking mine is going to be a little different though as I have a 1782, and the radiator is in front of the steering column. I'll take a look and see how much room (if any) there is.

Thanks for the reply.

I plugged the heater in for an hour or so and was suprised to feel that the block was warm. It started pretty easily at 25 deg.
