I had it out friday and saturday.I fond the speed control lever was not tight and keep gaining speed.It took a little looking but i fond it is a easy fix.Works good now.
Also it looks a lot different around here.Got 8" to 10" of snow sunday-early monday.

Looks great John.....Those rims look pretty shiny ....did u paint those also?? Will this tractor have a purpose other than looking pretty ? Thats ok if it dosnt ......i have a 2072 and 1872 that just sit there. Dave

The only thing i painted was the foot rests,battery area,heat shield and the hood.
the hood is the old one from my 1882.I am kind of doing an experiment on it.I want to see how the 935 paint holds up on the plastic plus i had to fix the hinge connections, that i used jb weld and tapped.If it fails i can put the 2284 hood back on and it's ready to go with new "cub cadet"decals.
Other than that it is only waxed.It is the least shinny tractor i have.I have painted my 1882 and 1872 so they look real nice.My 3235 i got with only 50 hours on it so i was able to take care of that at a early state.Last winter i even painted my 2165 with the 3240 paint design.
As far as a purpose i plan to put it into the mowing rotation.It's new to me so i will have to see what else comes up with it.But I am hoping for the best.

I sold my 123 to buy the 2284.I put a lot of work into it.But i never used it and i really babied it.It kind of hurt to let it go.But if the 2284 is solid it will be worth it

Ya it's longer taller and the tires are bigger.
I don't know about my 2284 yet.
But my GT3235 and SGT1882 are my favorite tractors i have ever had.I like how the 1882 feels using it but i also like the foot controls or the 3235.So if i could combined the two i would be in cub heaven

Yes it is a 2284,I needed side panels so I picked up a 1440 with some on it and did the deal.Pretty large for my use,runs and drives well but the paint on the deck is non existent When I got it home,it needed a new fuel pump,and a few other small stuff.

Yours has nice rims and paint.congrats!!!

Update on the 2284.Its been close to a year since i got it.
I got 22.4 hours of work on it this year.Hauling dirt,plug aerating,yard sweeper,some yard roller duty.Still would like to find a deck for it.
The painted hood is still holding up.My mods to the side panels are also holding up.Very happy with both.I have a replacement hood and new side panels if they fail but as of now all is great.
But all was not well from my last update.i had to replace ignition switch,flange bearing,damper plate assy,and cam assy.It needs a couple thinks more in the future.But overall im very happy with it.Love the Command engine.
Side note If you look at the last picture of the 2284.You see the tail of a dog.That was my best friend BUDDY.I lost him may 29th 2015 of cancer.I forgot he was in the picture and it was great to see that.

John - Thanks for checking in with. Sounds like the machine is working out well for you.

Decks should appear occasionally on CL or if you have a used Cub parts guy in the area you could get one sooner (for prolly a little more money). Personally, I love the 54" deck, fabulous side discharge without windrows and mulches leaves great with the mulch plug in.

Sorry to hear about your pupper. Dog spelled backwards is God.... I don't think that's just a coincidence! I truly think they are a gift and make our lives much better. I lost my Bulldozer this past year too, and burying him is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But that just tells me how great of a gift he truly was!

I now have a Rottie puppy that keeps me entertained. I didn't think I'd love another dog but come to find out I do. I just love the "new" one too. It's different but yet the same? But I still get choked up sometimes over that old Bulldog...

Yeah, have always had dogs, just completes the home for us. I was converted to rottie's with my last one, best dog I ever had, got him from death row at the pound. Just so in-tune with the family, super smart and they are just clowns! Lost him to mast cell cancer. That was real tough.

Got the replacement rottie almost exactly a year ago from a rescue. Another clown, but this one is almost insatiable with playing, can't get enough! Very expressive, head buts you for attention and leans into you with that rottie "hug". It's hard to describe their natural instinct to protect, but slow to bite. Gives me some confidence that the family is safe when I'm away. It will be rotties for me from now on!

Bryan, your gonna have a great dog there! Bryan and John, sorry for your loss. Also, sorry for the thread hi-jack, just had to join in!

I know this is a CC forum.But when i seen Buddy in the picture i had to call it out.Thank you all for the kind words. I didn't plan it but one day i woke up and know i was ready for a new dog,She is a germen shepherd too.I will get her Dec 20.I cant wait!!!I She is coming from Florida so i named her Dixie.Sorry this thread went of subject."I'm not really sorry ill take a dog over a cub cadet anyday"

I like the tractors as much as the next guy but what I really enjoy is hearing, and seeing people's stories. And I love stories about tractors and dogs... even more so if the story combines the two!

Hey Bryan.....since u brought it up, why dont u show us a pic or two of your pooch in the coffee shop. I had a perfect Rottie from 95 to 02. She was a big baby.....although on several occasions i did come out to the driveway to find delivery men up in the bed of my pickup truck I think they would just see her coming toward them and they had no where else to hide.
John, sorry your thread is shot..... but make sure u post a pic of the new pup!
