Is there any special way to push a hydro cub around ? I want to push my cub out of my barn to pressure wash the frame clean.

Release the hydro and push away. I tend to drag them with another cub

Lock the brake pedal down and drag the rear tires if you are in doubt if the hydro is released. The older ones and the newer ones had manual release on them but yours should have auto release valves.

And... If the hydro is released, it will roll very easily, with almost no effort if you are on a flat paved surface.

The 1541 should have auto relief valves. Once it has sat not running for a few minutes the pressure should bleed off and let the tractor roll.

Thanks for the information, I was looking for a release lever like on some newer mowers and could not find one[because it was not there], Thanks for the direct links to the service manual. Was trying to post pictures from photobucket but they did not take. Has anyone else seen the old carbide edged blades that cub sold, dad had a set . Thanks Jim

The later 1541's (SN 815,509 thru 821,060) with the BDU-21L tranny did have a hydro release (dump valve). The lever stuck up through the tunnel cover on the left side. (I had an early 1860 in this serial number range and it is the same.)

The earlier models had the traditional M15 tranny which is more robust and would have the automatic valves as Steve says.

Tried to pull the cub outside ad the wheels were sliding. While degreasing and pressure washing it something poped and the frame rolled down the slight incline on the ramp into the building. Something released on the braking system.
