Re: 1863 Cub question
Like all the newer Cyclops models they used the newer 6" PTO and Mtd decks. I just picked up one with a 54" deck I have a friend with a 48" on his. I parted a rough 1864 last spring, It had a 46" deck. I'm not sure but I think they made both 38" and 42" decks for the 6" PTO as well. If you use any parts site click on the "attachments" link as one of the parts brake downs. It will give you a listing of all the atchments for each model, decks included.

Re: 1863 Cub question
I'm not sure how it happened, but I have one with a 44" yellow deck. It is an honest 1863 ( not something with the wrong side panels).

Re: 1863 Cub question
The 1863 was sold as a bare tractor. The decks that were "factory" items were a 42" (320), 44" (318), 46" (321), 48" (317), 54" (324). The 317 and 324 decks were considered to be the commercial deck models.
