hi im looking at a cub 2082 to purchase its been sitting about 3 years am told it does run no smoke im looking to find out how good of a tractor is this and if theres any issues it may have also if u have one id like to know what u think of yours thank you ronnei

Ronnie,

The 2082 is a damn fine machine. I have one with a 50" deck.

Typical magnum engine issues apply, for example governor and breathers can have issues around 1,000 to 1,500 hours.

Also, typical cyclops plastic issues.

Look for leaking wheel seals (common problem, not a difficult repair) and make sure the rear axle is bolted in tight. Tom Scott did a big write up a few months back on the problems caused by loose axle mounting bolts.

Feels like a good heavy machine under your butt, and they are very stable on hills, and mine will climb hills in my yard with turf tires that I cannot get up on other machines. Parts are readily available, but engine rebuilds are very expensive.

BUY IT!!!

my worry's are the engine hasn't ran in 3 years im assuming the rebuild about 500 to 800 so im guessing ive got to do some thinking thank you ronnei
