They look like a late Cyclops. That's the retro fit kit. If you already have that style bulb you can buy just the grill. Also you can get them for less $$$.

Early Cyclops just had a bare halogen bulb that twisted into the plastic "reflector", just like the 2000 and 3000 series ended up getting. And just like with the 2000 and 3000 series, they sucked as headlights. I guess enough people complained to make Cub modify the Cyclops headlight, and I believe it happened sometime around when the large pto and high axle change came in.

So yes, they used the same traditional round sealed beam (4411 if I remember correctly), but used the rectangular cutouts to maintain the "Cyclops" look that had been styled. The sealed beams work just fine like this and seam to throw pretty much the same light I get out of my 1872.

So... That is why there is two grill part numbers; really the same grill in both boxes, just the number that Ernest listed provides the bulbs and ring retainers. If you don't already have the bulbs and retainers, it makes sense to get the kit. Some pics below are from my album here (click to expand, or click on my username, then gallery album):

1872, 46", 50C decks, Haban dozer blade, 450 snow blower
2182-1, Kwik-Way Loader, 3-pt & rear pto, 442 tiller
2182-2, 54" deck, 551 snow blower
Past tractors:  1541, 2135

You learn something every day!

So you just change the connectors? I replaced the nose on our 1641 and the new (Used) one came with round lights.
Can you buy WD40 by the tank car?
