1440 hystat

Post by nicky1 »

I have a Cub 1440 and I know it is built by MTD and I just wanted an opinion on the Hystat transmission. I know it will not support auxiliary hydraulics but otherwise is it close to being as strong as the ones used in the older Cubs. Just to use for a snow blade or pulling a larger lawn trailer full of wood. There aren't many attachments that are available for this model that I have found.

Go for it! For what your asking of it the transmission should not be a issue. Don't forget to adjust your valves every 100 hours on that Briggs!

Yes, I've already done the valve adjustment. This is the first Cub Hystat I have owned except the Cub SLT1554 that I mow with. The Hydro Gear transaxle in it is worthless except for mowing.
