2084 1872 attachment compatibility

Post by cwcub »

I found a 2084 for sale for $750 700hrs but paint on pan is coming off and rusting seat is trash. I am wondering if my 60 in haban, snow blower and 3pnt will fit it. I have 1200 hrs on the 1872 and it is getting a little tired. Mainly want to put the haban deck on for mowing. From the pictures the blower on the 2084 uses a different mounting system? Is this stuff compatible.

Corey - The 2084 is just the part of the next iteration of the SGT line, what we affectionately call the "Cyclops". The attachments mount the same, although I think the later Haban decks had some change to the mounting, I would suspect the earlier mounting would still work as the frame did not change.

The only real issue is the pto diameter increased early in the Cyclops run, which was a good thing as the larger implements driven by higher hp could cause belt slippage. The large pto provides more belt grip area and reduces the slip. The problem is that all the old implements you have were designed for the small pto and will be oversped by about 30% if you use them as is.

The newer Haban decks should of just had a larger corresponding pulley on the deck to make the ratio correct. You would need to put this correct pulley on your Haban deck.

For the snowblower, again it would be oversped if used as is. For the blowers, Cub kept the same input pulley size and changed the ratio on the gearbox to arrive at the correct blower speed. Here is a sticky that is at the top of this CCC/MTD sub forum on the blowers: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6684

Three point should just swap right over.
1872, 46", 50C decks, Haban dozer blade, 450 snow blower
2182-1, Kwik-Way Loader, 3-pt & rear pto, 442 tiller
2182-2, 54" deck, 551 snow blower
Past tractors:  1541, 2135
