Trunion Repair Piece From Extreme

Getting ready to install the repair box on broken trunion on my 1882 The end completly broke off my tractor : both sides and outside of box are goneMy question is do I trim.022 off the remainder of the trunion arm and weld the new piece on so its flush with top of original arm ? Don't have aclue or way to post pictures Thanks Ken in Pa

I have not done this repair....yet. I suspect it won't b too far off for the tractor I mow with. I would think the plan u mentioned would b the best way. Take the fender pan off and use an angel grinder to trim the old off. Clamp somehow...tac....check operating system...then finish it up. That looks like a good thick repair piece.

Thanks DAG Just hate starting this poject I guess Heading down to shed to start trimming now Will post how it turns out
