Super tunnel covers
Anyone know off hand if the metal tunnel cover will drop into place on a tractor with a plastic one? I like the metal ones for durability over the plastic.

Re: Super tunnel covers
Hi Steve! Hope you are well.
Yes, that was the first change I made to my newer 2182, totally hated that plastic tunnel cover. The earlier metal tunnel cover fits just like it always did, there is no difference with the fit. I also always tap the frame for 1/4"-28 flanged head screws, with a smooth flange so as not to mar the cover with locking serrations. Or if you can only find flange head with the locking serrations, put a flat washer under it. More robust than the dinky factory screws and less susceptible to stripping.

Re: Super tunnel covers
Still alive which is a surprise some days. Guess I'll start hunting for a metal one, the plastic one I have is in a few pieces. Already have been replacing things like the rubber fuel lines with steel, running the wiring in conduit and lots of small stuff. Currently working on making the rear three point divorced from the middle lift. Have the dash modified with three hydraulic valves already.

That sounds like a real cool project, would make a great project thread. I would love to see your take on dedicated hydraulics for 3 pt. Also, I find the factory rear lift to be just a touch weaker than what would really be useful. I have a carry-all I throw on the back of the loader tractor, but it really can't lift a tremendous amount of weight.
