Finally found a blade for sale for my 1872. I’ve been looking for one for 5 yrs or better. The cub stuff is hard to come by in the PNW Guy says it’s a Haban power angle all hardware for $450. I’m ok with the price just wondering what you guys think it’s worth? I know the Haban deck is hell for stout I would assume this is a well built unit as well. 350mi round trip but that’s the way it is up here in the sticks😆

Oh cool! Power is the only way to go. This is what's called 401. That price is on the higher side but not out of the question if it's nicer. Make sure you look at pics and familiarize yourself with the blade and all components on picture before you go dropping that money on another brand that the guy thinks is a cub blade but really a wheel horse. Lol. I think on those the identification is a sticker and not a riveted plate? There should be lots of hardware also like undercarriage stuff and rear cross bar and frame brackets, lift tube, and maybe he will have a very important rockshaft "cross strap"? If not buy one! Very important. Last thought is you will use two springs for snow and 4 for dirt. Post some pics. I have a couple one in factory black...and I did one in white that looks great and matches the tractor nicely.

Ok will do. He had it on an 1872 of his own says he has all the mounting stuff. It is plenty but just don’t see them here

If it makes you feel better, I paid more than that during the height of the Cub collecting craze! I don't regret getting it, it is a fabulous attachment. +1 on everything dag says, but looking at the pics, it all looks there except for the lift "tube". Make sure you get that if he has it, and the lift bracket that bolts to the tractor's rockshaft arm.

I don’t see the “plates” that bolt to the frame, if you have a 60” deck you should have these already. I think 450 is a fair price especially the Scarcity of cubs in Washington state.

Looks ok. It's gonna need paint...and a cuttin edge. I think guys are making those...or you can probably make one yourself. I had a nephew with a mill make one with the factory slots for the carriage bolt head. I don't know if anything that can make a square hole in steel so you could just drill and use regular bolt head.
Crap...I hope I haven't lost my 401 id tags. I don't know why I thought decals and now I'm sure I haven't riveted them back on? I have to look into this.

This is what Tom and I were calling different "strap / bracket" rockshaft thing. From the picture it looks easy to make? But it's heavy gauge steel and it's offset...so not too easy.

Gotcha thanks for the pic. Going Tuesday to make a deal. Apparently he has other super stuff as well. Sounds like he went down the 2000 series road. Has a tiller but I don’t have the rear pto. I have a # 2 on my 1450 works great anyway Make a few bucks with that every spring

In this area the Haban blades are somewhat rare and you always have to fight with the vultures from other states to get them... Dang poachers... I almost had a third one last year, came up for sale and was gone in 2 days, called and was told "Oh yeah, someone from Massachusetts bought it" I would never... well almost never.... well OK I'd go out of state to pick up Cubs or parts, but only if it was close, well relatively close... OK I'll hop three states or so but....

Well I got. No lift strap bracket though the lift tube was on it just couldn’t see it in the pics. Cutting edge toast beginning to wear on blade. Has a couple goober welds on it. I could only get him down to $400 but after 180mi I wasn’t going to leave it and he knew it so maybe not a bargain but it is serviceable. Thanks for the input.
Guys got a lot of stuff 1872 with engine apart rear pto. Pto tiller, a cub gas tiller, 60” Haban deck 8 yes 8 2000 series and a matching tiller. A 1650 with tiller and blower. A 2084 I think oh and a new xt1 or whatever they are.
His wife must be more understanding than mine!

Great. The things are beasts aren't they! I forget if you have 60" mower deck. Like someone said if you do then you have the frame "cross tube" brackets. In the past no one sold the rockshaft strap bracket but now I see them for sale a couple places.
Steve....just don't be coming down to PA!! It's off limits. You can have the northern territory from the NY pa line and up. I think Lew has most of nj. I will have eastern pa. I will admit...I grabbed a 2072 from glen falls a few years back. Oops

Dag where do you see the bracket for sale? I checked the two sights I know of that deal in vintage cub parts but didn’t see it listed
If I had the dimensions I could get it built

12? That’s it? Last I counted I’m around 30. My wife says I can have as many as I want so long as the yard is neat. She wants room for her the dogs and chickens to all do there thing!

I believe xtreem sells that braket, the description is vague, but it lists as a $17. Maybe it’s just because they’re redoing the website.?

Dag, OOPS.... Already been down there twice, but only one was for Cub stuff. The other was to drag a relatives wreck back up here..
