I had to laugh at the picture of the car. A friend of mine was following a pick up a couple of weeks ago that had a hitch carrier with a generator on it and an air conditioner like that in the window! People really do that crap! lol

I really like the "Did you Know " qwirps that show up in red.
I read somewhere that the first hydro that was to be shown to top executives and was to be leak free . had a slight problem with it, but thanks to the secretary it ended up wearing a feminine napkin and passed with flying colors.... Can anyone find that info and verify this ?

Trying to help a friend on another Big tractor forum. these numbers I can't decipher. maybe if I show we can help he may join.
I just bought a snowblower for my 1450 Cub Cadet
I'ts just like new but sat in a garage for many
years. The drive belt, mower to electric clutch
is "Hard as a rock" It has number 4774 on it, and
appears to be an A, or 4L type.Blower is an
"International", Specification GA42A U1111, it's
a 42 inch. Anyone have an idea what I need, or
know where I can download a parts bulletin and
get an interchangable IH number?

Re: Continuous Thread for all the Posts That Don't Rate a To
Probably a QA42A rather than a GA42A. Best to get the correct belt from a CC dealer. I have never found an aftermarket
belt that fits correctly in that application. A 3L is too narrow and a 4L and an A are too wide. The CC belt has a deeper V than
the 3L or 4L.

Joe gave me a real nice 38 in deck to pu under he diesel so I can run my PECO vac. Ill post some pics later.

A husband and wife are shopping in their local Wal-Mart.
The husband picks up a case of Budweiser and puts it in their cart.
What do you think you're doing? asks the wife.
They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans, he replies.
Put them back, we can't afford them, demands the wife, and so they carry on shopping,
A few aisles further on along the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and put it in the basket.
What do you think you're doing? asks the husband.
It's my face cream. It makes me look beautiful, replies the wife.
Her husband retorts: So does the 24 cans of Budweiser and it's half the price.
He never knew what hit him.

I saw at the top of the page that" Wagner" was looked at for the first design for the Cub Cadet.
"When IH decided to get in the garden tractor business, they first considered buying a unit from Wagner Iron Works, but after testing one of the units, it was concluded that design and quality did not conform to the standards required to bear the IH name."
This one was made presumably in the 60's http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=198089

Re: Continuous Thread for all the Posts That Don't Rate a To
Just got back in from Ardin Nc late last night. Had a blast for 3 days up there and Frank, Darrell and I had a blast! I wish I could remember all the one line quotes I heard this weekend, but too many to remember. I got to see some old Forum members as well as new and some green friends too. Saw Mike from T&H Creations, Scott Rohades, his Dad, and Chris his uncle. Tones of guys from my plow day and the guys from Dixie Turf Toys tractor club in Charlotte. We were camped next to 2 great guys one from southern Ohio selling tools, and not the harbor freight junk, snap on, sk, milwalkee and tons of stuff for lathes, bridge ports and pipe threading. The other guy out of Knoxville Tenn was a lot of fun. His son was a walking talking gun book. At 15 hes was showing me what was wrong with so many guns. The had a portratie of Big Mike on the back of the truck.
I learned a lot about my wheel horse. I took Vinces 582 and it to show and a 21 series to sell. One thing I learned was theres a lot of people looking for this little tractor. there were 2 more at the show for sale, none were as nice as mine. I was offered 2 VERRY GENEROUS OFFERS kinda what I call stupid money for it. It was fun riding it around and showing it off.
Today will probbly be the last time I ride it this year. Ill ride it up to see the horses and then drain the gas out of it and leave it in the shed. My neighbore says I look k=like an elephant on a tricycle! LOL

Well for the last 3 seasons Ive worked for Frank, every fall I have to get his 1440 running. He never uses it, the selonid sticks, or something in a jet, dead batt, ect. Well I took the diesel up to work and we mowed down the field out back. Hasnt been done in a while, needed it big time. The mower shows 214 hrs on it, Frank says the kids used to play with it and leave the key on. Any way he wants to sell it, runs awsome, heres pics of it in action. It will be in the sellin section soon.

I didn't go deer hunting this year, but my truck did! Took out the radiator (got pushed up into the motor) and as you can see the front end is trashed. I hit a nice sized 12 point buck. I would upload the picture, but I can get it sized correct.

Somebody said these danged old tractors will get to breeding on you. I started out in Feb of 2010 with just 1 Cub Cadet, and week later I had another. Last month I bought another one that I need to go get. Last January I got my first David Bradley Walk-Behind, and just this week I bought a 1966 Massy MF10 and another David Bradley. That is 7 Tractors.
I think I'm going out to the garage, and lift up the back wheel on my tractors and find out which ones are boys and which ones are girls and separate them.

Jeff
You still driving that POS Sterling? I figured it would have left you on the side of the road so many times that they would have gotten you a new one. Mine was in the shop more than it was on the road I think.
Pat
Some years ago when I got layed off from the Cat dealer I had 22 tractors in my yard. I looked at them and said you all gota go! Its funny how one leads to so many. I went to see my hero Seth Kaufman years ago and man whata yard ful Seth and Pat have. Not to mention Lew Im a mafia brick layer Palma. He seems to drag one home a week! Theres Cal up in Ohio the full time bus driver part time fire ems guy with a yard full. People like Timmy D that have so many wheel weights that if he puthem on a tractor it wouldnt get out of the door. Then theres a guy up the road from me that has about 200 or more in buildings. Its an addiction for sure, and a fun one.

I used to know a guy in SE Kansas that had at least 300 John Deeres in his yard, he had al least 60 A's and at least 40 B's. I sold him my L because he had a LA and a LI but no L. His yard was a sea of green.

Vince, yup I still love my Sterling! It was to be replaced this past March, but we decided to keep it for 2.5 more years. I hope it keeps going as it has 445,000 miles on it now.
BTW, the deer hit cost $9,500.00 to get the truck fixed. I duno when it will be done from getting repaired, but so far i'm on rental truck #2! The Heno I had last week broke down, and now i'm driving a International.

Read any good books lately?
Shortly thereafter, it vanished from their shelf
After 14 years of sulking around about the whole affair I decided to give myself a present and started checking around Amazon.com to locate another copy, only 15,000 first edition are in print.
As things came to be I was to learn that the publication was still available directly from the Moore Special Tool company and at one half the cost that folks were asking for in used average condition from Amazon
Friday I placed an order with them and today it was propped up on my door step. This one is a fourth printing dated 2005.
With 350+ pages of reading and over 550 photographs it makes great bedtime reading for any cranky old machinist
Though somewhat dated by today's standards, the old methods still hold true- And the library ain't getting this one either!
