Any other gun nuts around here? :)
OK, So I have been around firearms my entire life. I grew up with them, and with parents that were Hunter Education instructors. So they are as much a part of me as my southern Indiana accent.
I have just gotten into reloading, and have really been shooting a lot lately and I know hobbies tend to run together so I ask all my tractor buddies to come out of the woodwork! Unless you're afraid of NSA
Seriously though do any of you have any good shooting forums you would recommend?

Re: Any other gun nuts around here? :)
I'm into guns but I don't go on any forums. I haven't had much time for shooting and reloading the last few years.
I did just buy a gun safe last fall and have been doing some bb gun shooting in the back yard.

I don't know millitary weapons so you have to explain what they are!

Decided to add an illuminated reticle 3X-10X scope to my AR-15. A2 handle mount with low quick detach rings
Off to the range tomorrow to see how well it works or if i have to go to a A3/flat top configuration

Re: Any other gun nuts around here? :)
Jeff, that scope is 10 feet off the barrel?
Tim, seeing as you are a died in the wool redneck we already knew you had some boom booms...
I bought a new 22-250 last week. Savage Heavy Fluted Barrel with Synthetic Stock. I put a Nikon 4.5-14X40BDC scope on it. Haven't shot it yet though.
I also got a new Pellet gun to sight in...

Re: Any other gun nuts around here? :)
Not quite 10 feet but it is a honest 3-1/2" centerline of scope to bore centerline. If it doesn't shoot accurately, I'll just switch from the A2 configuration to the A3 which is the "flat top".bbaker wrote:Jeff, that scope is 10 feet off the barrel?

The rifle is a Bushmaster DCM target model and it is quite accurate.

Not sure if I'm considered a gun nut, but do have my share of guns! We have a Mosin Nagant, Sprinfield 1901, Yugo version of the German Mauser K98 as far as military rifles go. As far as newer stuf, we've got a Stoeger M3500 12 ga, Weatherby 12 ga, Savage .17 HMR, Marlin .22, Tikka T3 .243 and a Ruger American .243. This is our lastest addition....a Rock Island Arms M1911 .45.

I have a RI 1911 in Nickle, (chrome) and it's one of the best shooting pistols I have. I wear it to the NRA Banquet!
I mean what else are you going to do with a chrome .45

BB that's awesome! I wish I could carry mine, but in Maryland, it's nearly impossible to get carry permits. I do love the way the 1911 shoots, what a great gun! This is the only hand gun that I own, and probably always will be since Maryland has now made it so much more difficult to purchase them as of Oct. 1. I dislike my state very much!!!!!!!!

My Son has a SKS that is S/N 654321. From a collectors viewpoint this is known a a ladder sequence.
When we discovered this he put it back in it's box and bought another one to use as a shooter.
The cosmoline is still on it.

10-4 to the XDS 45, Alabama is very gun friendly on their gun laws but I guess I'm just more comfortable with a CCW. LOL if I get in a mood to show off I can always strap on my Super Blackhawk 44mag in the shoulder holster and head on out hehehe.

I am like Steve i wish MD wasn't such a pain but i still like my guns especially my custom 91-30 Mosin Nagant. Shortened 6 inches, threaded muzzle brake, bent bolt handle, trigger job and a Boyd's laminated stock. It shoots sweet and accurate and has about half the kick of a stock Mosin
