Re: DR finish tow mower
My neighbor tried a tow behind for his field (don't know what brand) but he really needed a rough cut or bush-hog capable one. So my only advice is don't plan on using it on tall weeds, it is still just a finish mower.
The only advantage I see is not needing to remove some other attachment to mow. Other than that I guess for a large area you might get a wider path if it is offset to the side of the tractor and you can use two decks at once.
dag is always trying to show off equipment he found on the internet as his own. I have seen his tow behind, he sent me this pic when he first got it:

What I was trying to say........this pic was a representation of what dad had when I was a boy. We called them gang mowers. They would cut good but would not cut off the tall "whip" things.
Tom....the goats r working out real well. My neighbors call me "Woody".... after Woodrow Wilson. Great minds think alike.

I have a couple 60" Swisher mowers hooked up behind a 60 finish mower on my Kubota BX. Cuts grass fast.

Dave
I use a 1641 with a 48" GT deck to do the close in work. The Big Mower cuts 12' at a pass. Putting it away is easy, I just unhook the Swishers and push them into the garage by hand. Used to take me abut 3 hours with a 2182 and a 60" Haban, with this setup it's about 45 minutes to an hour.
Back to the original question about the DR, just my 2 cents but I think the Swisher is a little better built.

I agree the Swisher does seem to be better.but right or wrong I ordered the 60" Dr today
