My "box of chocolates"

Post by dag1450 »

Well....I'm 47 and I have loved every one of the chocolates I have picked out! But...A few months ago I bit into the one with the mystery jelly..... :(
This past May my wife was diagnosed with an 8 mm brain tumor. While kinda small....it's in a part of the brain that it can't fit without doing permanent damage. So.... after hitting this head on ( lol) we did a lot of praying ... and shopping around for a fix. We found an older surgeon in Boston who wrote the book on this kind of tumor. At first I was like...no way r we going to pick the guy in Boston....but as time went by Boston seemed like the best option for her.
So on 8/5 we will head north to Brigham and women's hospital.... for surgery on 8/7. My wife and I are asking the Lord for a perfect outcome.....but only he knows what's on the other side.
So....I'm just hoping my very next chocolate has some carmel.
I know this is a tractor website and this really don't belong here...... but I just wanted to share my situation.
Thanks Dave

Dave thoughts and prayers to your wife. Done a lot of research on cancer stuff. Change her immediately to a plant-based whole food diet. I know it’s hard but lots of good stories of recovery.

Thanks Todd and Joe!
One correction....it's 16mm in size
And Joe it is not the cancer kind. But yes she is almost a food freak. Tries not to eat processed food. The other day i brought home blue hawian punch. Almost handed me divorce papers

I'll pray for your wife and you too. In addition to being strong for your wife, make sure you get some "decompress" time for yourself too. You need to be around both right now and as she recovers.

My wife is a breast cancer survivor ( over 6 years now ) and I know first hand how helpless you can feel with what is going on.

Thanks again guys for your thoughts and prayers. Well...as I already mentioned the surgeon called last week and said there was a schedule conflict bla bla bla.....and now if we go to their next available....wife could miss a few or more of our 2 oldest varsity football games. So.... since it is elective surgery we will postpone till after the main season... end of October. I know it makes it sound like not a big deal. But it is a very slow growing tumor....so there is no lights and sirens urgency.
Thanks again and will keep you posted

Jeff, absolutely fabulous news about your wife!

Dave, hang in there. Don't dwell on it, put it all on hold until October shows up. Enjoy quality time with the family, and take care of yourself! Your wife will need you to be "all the dag you can be"!

It’s hard to think cancer can have good news unless it’s gone but it sounds like considering the circumstances you got good news.

Thanks guys! She is doing great. We are back at our apartment in Boston... doing some walking and talking.
I had to bring my big car because we came up with the whole family....just her and I going home as the boys took the train. All this means....I'm scanning CL. I see a nice 123 all decked out little south of here in CT. I have a week to put together a couple deals
