That sounds neat. I thought I heard somewhere that the throttle cable for the diesels are hard to find? I'm sure you know from your other smoker that it's not a standard cable. I'm not real familiar with the whole setup. Keep us posted!

Cables are still available. Just got a new throttle cable from Messicks for my 1572. I think the shutdown said available too.

Albie,

I was almost certain that one of the 782D cables was no longer available. But looking at Messicks it seems like both may be still available.

Messicks`s and I have a love - hate relationship... On my Simplicity`s I would find the parts on their site that no one had and boy did I love that... then 3 weeks later I would get an e-mail with a credit statement saying the part was no longer available is where the hate came in. I would call ahead and speak to someone directly. Happened to me several times... It did not happen all of the time but when it did GRRRRRR.

My 2 cents...
