This is where we can discuss all the stuff made after IH's sale to MTD.

Snow thrower

Post by BigMike »

A neighbor came over to ask if I knew what snow thrower would go on a 1641. I had to admit I had no idea.
So guys, which one and anyone have one relatively close to southwest lower Michigan?

Mike - See the sticky on 450, 451, 551 blowers at the top of this CCC sub-forum: http://www.cubcadetcollectors.com/foru ... 8&t=6684
  • Small pto = 450
    Large pto = 451, 551
I can't remember if the 1641 was ever offered in small pto, I suspect it was large pto only, but I'd strongly recommend measuring the pto to be sure. Also, see in my thread linked above about turning the input pulley of the blower to verify if it had been converted. A blower marked 450 could have had a gearbox swap and converted to 451 and vice versa.

1872, 46", 50C decks, Haban dozer blade, 450 snow blower
2182-1, Kwik-Way Loader, 3-pt & rear pto, 442 tiller
2182-2, 54" deck, 551 snow blower
Past tractors:  1541, 2135

Thank you Tom!
I have to admit I did not do my due diligence in this case.

Mike, no problem! Sometimes it just makes sense to push the "Easy Button"!

I refuse to think about why... That's a scary place to go!
