This is where we can discuss all the stuff made after IH's sale to MTD.

So I did check the 451 snowthrower gear box per previous post and it has been swapped out, it’s definitely a 450 gear box. Since I only use this tractor for snow removal I think I’ll swap out the PTO to the smaller one since it has the 6” on it. Again, please forgive me cause I’m new here, but where do I go to find a smaller used PTO for this 1641?

That will be a bit more difficult. The 1641 was the updated tractor only built for the 451. The 1541 that came before it had a Kohler that could be had with both PTOs but when the 1641 showed up it had a Briggs in it and only had the one PTO. The fix from CC was to swap the gearbox over if you had the earlier 450 blower. The 450 box will spin the blower a lot faster with the larger PTO. I have tried using a larger pulley on the blower to compensate and it does work but you need to tweak the idler angles to get the belt to run true and you can't run the belt cover.

I’ve been told the pto shaft on the Kubota models as the same size as the Biggs used in the 1440/1641. I have no real experience here, but I believe you can buy the pto for a 782d new in epay. If it works please reply back here!

I have actually just been using the 450 with my large pulley 2182 tractor.  (I have one with a large pto, one with the small.)  Yes, I know it's not correct, but I've gotten away with it.  These blowers can tend to pack up and the higher speed can help keep them clear.  On the downside, it's easier to overload it in heavy snow and break a belt or risk breaking a gear box or something else in the blower.  Follow my poor example at your own risk!
