Want info on a Cub Cadet , it's probably here. Want info on a John Deere? Not going to find it online! Apparently JD likes to track down any info sources and stop them from putting up things like service manuals, owners manuals or pretty much anything useful. Really makes it difficult to even find out things like what attachments were or are available for the older tractors. Or a manual for things like snowblowers or mower decks.

Hi Steve, Hope you've been well!

Wow, that's not a good look to build brand loyalty.  Some companies just don't get it.

Howdy Tom, Been staying on top of the grass at least. Yeah it seems they are willing to sell you info. I have hunted a bit with the numbers for some of the books and found some of them. Still can't find a parts book like CC has though, but I'm not giving up yet! I will say the 455 is a real beast but I still like the SGT control layout better. So far I've dropped the attachments a few times because my hand reaches for the hydro hand lever, but that is the lift control on the JD !

Hey guys, good to see both of you post.
I agree, manufacturers are becoming very protective of their information, even some that is relatively old.
I'm very grateful I had my collection in the "Golden Era", back when parts were everywhere, parts people knew what we were working on and the quality was still there. Now when I go in somewhere I have to seek out someone with gray hair......and I'm not bashful about kindly saying "I need someone with a little" and tug on my beard.
