What a sweet tractor Ben!! I'm getting a Danco RD1000 loader from my buddy Duke over on Only Cub Cadets.net as soon as I can get to N.C.!! You have an RD2000?? I'm trying to find a manual for the rd1000, have the rd300 & rd2000. I'm going to put it on my 71 and since I only weigh 130# I'm gonna have to load up the rear with counter weights, Will be a barn queen someday, then I won't have to worry about rear weight. My Original is a beast with 4 IH wheel weights and chains.Ben Morong wrote:All the snow that southern Maine didn't get in December came to visit over the last ten days, and the boys (Original, 104 and 125/loader) have been earning their keep. Anyone ever heard the expression "LOADERS RULE!" -- I couldn't have done this with a shovel or a snow blade. The loader's been doing a great job since I put enough weight on it (a 55 pound Bolens weight on the inside of each rear wheel, on the outside a Simplicity 25 pounder and a IH CC 27 pounder, and the box on the back is full of lead wheel weights), But I found that even with all that weight my aggressive ATV tires are no match for glare ice, and they're also taller, raising my center of gravity. I'm going to have to find spacers, and put on some 23-10.50-12 turf tires with chains -- then it'll be unstoppable!

Re: snow pics and winter stories
well yesterday I was counting flowers in my yard and woke up to 4 inches of snow. The old Original has been sitting for 2 months
and not had any attention. It fired off on the second rev and pushed snow for 2 hrs without missing a beat. Amazing!!!
its now just after 1pm and we have just over a foot and still gettin hammered. Oddly enough 20 miles north just has a dusting so its one of those
micro climate freaky things I always hope for.

Pretty bad when Subaru's and 4WD trucks can't get up the driveway. The Cub can
This is the thickest snow I can imagine. The drive home on I-91 was about going around stuck 18 wheelers- man what a mess.
That 126 is savin my rear today-

Re: snow pics and winter stories
No stack for that one Dan. The 126 Is the only Cub I own that is correct- I intend to keep it that way
I stopped off at my friendly local Kubota/Polaris dealer and they had a genuine Kohler replacement for me in three days.
They are painted black now which was news to me. I got very lucky on Saturday when the QA42 snapped a drive chain with less than ten feet of driveway left to go so I picked up 51 links of #40 roller chain while I was there- we are good to go again!
Was that thing ever LOUD!

Lewis, good eye- no.
That can be brought back with the flick of a wrench- What else have I got wrong?
Four things- Something else- Too easy- Three more- A wise man here once said it's my tractor, I might possibly know more about it than you
Let me know when you got them all
