Snow Blade Question

Postby ReicheP » Thu Nov 21, 2013 5:57 pm

I have a 54" blade, can anyone advise which tractor this sub frame will fit? It's 13" between the mounting.

Looks like a 82 series plow and mount to me , the 13 inches sounds right , but my 54" has the locking pins pointing out on straight uprights . Also that lift bracket looks like mine which takes a 5/8 diameter rod .
I see a lot of cub cadets while going down the tracks , its a shame I can't pull over and ask about them .

Paul
It is for the cyclops as dave said but the only difference between it and the 82's is the arms are a bit lower where the QA pins hook up, so it should go right onto any of your tractors 82 series and ql's. You would need to change the bracket on the a-frame for the QL's and 1x8/9's

ok to go into it farther the mount you have is for the high axle Cyclops the low axle Cyclops used the same as the 82 series or wide frames the way I put springs on is lay the blade face down take the lower pin out and hook the springs on and pull the v back toward you and use a punch to line up the pin hole the use a vise grip to hold the v in place while you slide in the pin

Paul,
As Ray said that is a 1863/1864 mount. I think it would set the back of your blade too low and give you a funny angle where the blade contacts the ground, and throw off your lift rod length. I wouldn't cut that one up to make it work, they are kinda hard to find. I had a 54" blade on my 1650 through a couple of snowy winters, and my only complaint was that it was too wide to plow the sidewalks in my old neighborhood where a 42" did just fine width wise. I had one set of wheel weights and about 80 lb of homemade suitcase weights on the rear with tru powers. It would pile snow as high as I wanted to or until the blade bottomed out.

I set my 1650 up with my 42" blade since I have tight place I need to clear. So the 54 will be sold.

You need a lot of extra weight to push a 54" blade. I have my 214# & 220 pounds of wheel weights on my 1450 dual stick and had a rough time pushing the 54" blade.
